Death Valley, 8 March 2009
This trip was delayed a whole month due to bad weather. We rented a 4WD SUV for driving on unpaved roads and it was well worth the money. It's challenging, but really really fun! Until your tyre punctures that is... In general, Death Valley is full of different natural phenomenon, which makes exploring the entire National Park so fascinating.
Badwater Basin, lowest point in North America.
It doesn't show up too well, but the ground is actually salt deposits...
... which looks like this close-up. Quite amazing.

Charades: Guess the name of this place!
Artist's Palette. See if you can spot the different colours.

Sand Dunes
Titus Canyon. I will remember this drive forever. It still ranks at the top of my list of most challenging roads taken. VERY WINDY and furthermore it was unpaved. But it was great, great fun!
Ubehebe Crater in the day and at sunset
Racetrack Playa. Enroute to this place, one of the tires punctured. Sian-half. Aside from that, this place is huge and empty. çİş。The photos can't quite capture it, really gotta see it for yourself.

JINGYIN!
You're working in the states! How cool is that?? San Diego is one of my favoritest cities ever (was on exchange to University of Southern California in LA some time ago), and Oceanside is where one of my fav dramas Private Practice is set!
Lucky girl! Beautiful Beaches, and have you been to that awesome place with the gargantuan pancakes yet? Think it's called the Tractor Room.
On the topic of food, if you ever go down to downtown LA, have breakfast at the Original Pantry, they've got some of the best American breakfast i've ever had - sourdough bread/pancakes and gigantic ham steaks and hash (the potato variety).
Anyway, so glad to have stumbled upon your blog and see you're having such great fun.
Take care,
Min Zhi =)
Omigosh! Min Zhi!!! How are you? Long time no see! Ah I haven't updated this blog for sooooo long now *paiseh paiseh*
Thanks for the food suggestions, I haven't been to those places, will definitely try to visit them before I leave this beautiful place *sniff*
You take care too and keep in touch :)--Jing Yin
